Florentina (Flori) is one of our most trusted and beloved rescuers who works herself to exhaustion and heartbreak trying to save dogs from the plight they face in Romania. She saves dogs from desperation, often having only known suffering, abuse, hunger and pain, and takes them to a safe haven for treatment, care and rehabilitation. We have homed many dogs who have been saved by Flori and know how very much of her heart and soul she puts into each dog she saves. It is a very hard life to be a dog-rescuer in Romania, where you are faced with constant prejudice, witnessing daily animal abuse and trying to help against financial and societal pressure. Florentina is working hard to expand her shelter so she can help more dogs, as she cannot currently keep up with the sheer number of rescue cases she is being presented with daily. We would really like to help her build a better world for dogs in Romania. She truly is a dog-lover and rescuer, every dog she takes in gets love, care, affection and even training so that they have the best chances to be able to live a happy life in a home with a family.
