Can be an upsetting business and the last three weeks have been amongst the worst.We have been trying to extract dogs ( pups mainly) from some high kill 'shelters' ( never has there been a more cynical name - these are dog concentration camps full of starvation, diseases and death) in Romania. Normally I try to concentrate on the positive and shield our supporters from the full horror and worry of some of the things we do. But we have to appeal for funds to pay the vet's bills from the dogs we have managed to save (23 so far, a drop in the ocean of course, but not for these dogs).Your money will go directly to making their little lives more comfortable and bringing those who survive here, for the lovely life that we know we can provide.
I could write an essay, or a chapter in a book,on the ups and downs we have experienced during this venture. Probably it would never be allowed to be published though.... We have shed many tears. Some dogs have died even when saved. Thousands more are still incarcerated. The world is slowly changing its views on the way humans treat animals.
