Scout
Dogs at Barby Keel Sanctuary

Born: 2017 - 7 years old
Sex: Male
Size: Small
Neutered: Yes

Scout has found himself back with us after he didn’t quite make the grade with his trial period! Sadly he couldn’t curb his urge to chase the cats and also showed signs of guarding behaviours around food, toys and sofa’s with their other dogs!
We are working on behavioural modification to overcome these issues.
That said, Scout is super cute (everyone thinks he’s a puppy, he doesn’t seem to have grown into his paws!). He is very loving, cuddly and wants to be wherever you are!
Scout is seeking a very special person who would suit a quiet, calm household (adult only) with no other animals so he can be the centre of attention and training. He also has a slight heart murmur, which will just need to be kept an eye on, doesn’t stop him from doing zoomies from time to time!

Good Points
  • Toilet trained
  • Loves cuddles and is very affectionate
  • Is accepting of bathing and brushing
  • Enjoys walks
  • Is inquisitive and will be into what you’re into!

Things that need working on
  • Resource guards food, toys & sofa’s
  • Any animal interactions
  • Confidence - can bark when unsure of things

Requirements
  • Well fenced garden
  • Experienced with dogs with behavioural issues
  • Someone that’s home most of the time.
  • Able to offer time and dedication to training

Owners have lifetime support for adopted dogs by the sanctuary and our trainer
