House trained

Myrto has now been in her foster home for a few weeks. It has taken a while to assess her as she seems to be an introvert dog! Its not surprising as she had to fend for herself on a huge landfill site in Greece before she was rescued and then she was kennelled with Gino ( also looking for a home) who she  probably felt protected her.

Now she is in a loving foster home with many other dogs, cats and chickens.  She gets on with them all and is gentle, loving and funny with her female fosterer ( we have some videos we can send on application) although its taking her a while to be stroked by the fosterer's husband! ( Often these dogs are scared of men and children because they have been chased by them. t takes a long time to unlearn these habits and trust humans.)

Myrto loves walking, is good on the lead and in the car. She has travelled twice to Devon to the fosterers' holiday home and loves the beach too.

She will be cautious meeting new people and this cannot be rushed. Myrto will make her own mind up, being an adult female! But she is not aggressive and will cautiously approach, head down and tail tentatively wagging, if she has had the chance to observe the visitor from a distance first, for as long as she likes.

Myrto will need several visits so any potential adopter should be willing to travel to Bordon ( near Farnham, Surrey) at least four times to form a relationship with her, tentatively at first, and taking her for a walk perhaps on the second visit.
We will talk to you about this at the homecheck, which takes place nowadays over a video link and is followed up as necessary by a home visit.

Myrto travelled with all vaccinations, microchip and passport.
