Eric is very charming and funny young dog, nearly nine months of age and loves to play. He is great fun to have around the house and got on very well with the children in his home. He sleeps happily in his crate all night and for naps during the day and is completely house-trained. Eric is fantastic with other dogs, will play with them enthusiastically but will also leave them alone if asked to do so, what a polite boy!
He has good recall, and knows "sit", "down" and "stay", he is a very intelligent dog and has brilliant training potential. He really enjoys learning new commands and is eager to please. Eric travels well in the car, even on long journeys and happily jumps into the boot by himself.
He has not shown any guarding tendencies, even around food, which is brilliant considering he was so undernourished when he was rescued. He does not shed much fur and is a healthy boy full of joy.
Unfortunately, Eric is being rehomed after three months as he has developed some anxieties that his adopters were finding hard to manage. He is great with new dogs but struggles with strange humans, particularly men or people carrying scary objects such as sticks, and those who enter his home. This is a very common fear for rescue dogs and usually eases with time and gentle positive experiences. Sadly Eric was struggling to cope in his busy household so needs to find a new home. He would appreciate a relatively quiet household who can introduce him more gradually to new people, both inside and outside the home.
Poor Eric and his brother Jax were abandoned in a Romanian wasteland as puppies. Luckily, they were spotted by local rescuers who saved them from certain death. When Eric arrived in the UK he was covered in scars and very underweight but has since blossomed into a gorgeous young lad.
