Sissy is approximately 2.5 years old. She was found with her puppies on the side of a busy highway in Athens, struggling to survive. Workers from a nearby factory fed Sissy, her puppies and the other dogs living on the highway. However after several of the highway puppies were run over by cars, the workers decided to capture the surviving puppies and seek rescue in a local shelter. The workers said they would return for Sissy but they never did and she remained on the streets, alone.
Sissy was eventually rescued and has lived in a shelter in Greece for the last 1.5 years. Life has not been easy for her. Food and water is scarce at the shelter and the dogs do not receive proper care, but nevertheless, Sissy remains sweet-natured and friendly. Chimney Farm have brought all of Sissy's pups over to the UK to find loving homes but Sissy now remains alone again. She really deserves her forever home!
Sissy is sociable with other dogs and has learnt to walk on the lead. She is a good girl. Sissy could do with losing a few pounds, she hasn't had any reason to move much! But with a loving home and walks she will soon lose the excess weight.
Sissy is a medium to larger girl and has been spayed. Unfortunately, Sissy does have leishmaniasis, but this has improved and was 1/400 was her last reading. She is looking for an adopter with leish experience to give her the best care and a long, happy life in a loving home.
Sissy will be fully vaccinated and microchipped before she travels. Adoption donation and homecheck will apply. We are assisting with the advertisement of Sissy but she is not a Give a Dog a Home rescue.
